Which stage inspections to book on a Wyndham Vale build
If you cannot book all seven, here is how to choose, based on what each stage can still catch.
In short: Each stage has a short window. Choosing well means knowing what disappears next.
Start with the handover
The pre-handover inspection is the one almost every owner should book, along with a reinspection. It is your last chance to have the builder fix items at no cost to you.
Then the frame
Bracing, tie-downs, beams and lintels are all visible at frame and hidden from lock-up onwards.
The slab, on clay
On reactive ground the stiffening beams and underlay deserve a look before concrete, because they cannot be checked afterwards.
Lock-up and waterproofing
Lock-up catches ducts, sarking and insulation before plaster. Waterproofing catches membrane faults before tiling, which is cheaper than any shower repair later.
Fixing
Fixing picks up walls out of plumb, blocked weep holes and door issues while they can still be adjusted easily before paint.
